National Advisory Board on Research Ethics/ Tutkimuseettinen neuvottelukunta perustettiin

The National Advisory Board on Research Ethics (Tutkimuseettinen neuvottelukunta perustettiin, Helsinki) is an expert body appointed by the Ministry of Education and Culture. It was founded in 1991 to deal with ethical questions relating to scientific research.

The Secretary General of the Council is attached to the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies.
Aims are: to make proposals and issue statements to governmental authorities on legislative and other matters concerning research ethics; to act as an expert body working towards the resolution of ethical issues relating to research; take initiative in advancing research ethics and promote discussion concerning research ethics; monitoring international developments in the area and take actively part in international co-operation, and to inform the public about research ethics.
